Apesar das questƵes em torno das identidades de gĆ©nero e sexuais em Portugal estarem legalmente avanƧadas, ainda hĆ” muito por melhorar, uma vez que a realidade de todos os dias ainda nĆ£o acompanha, como se almeja, os enunciados legais e normativos. A falta de conhecimento e formaĆ§Ć£o dos profissionais e, em geral, a insuficiente sensibilizaĆ§Ć£o da sociedade constituem barreias exigentes de se superar.
O presente projeto aborda a problemĆ”tica da discriminaĆ§Ć£o contra mulheres trans em estabelecimentos prisionais, operacionalizando variados conceitos relacionados com as identidades de gĆ©nero e sexuais LGBTI+, com principal objetivo dar visibilidade a estas questƵes sobre a discriminaĆ§Ć£o contra a comunidade LGBTI+, mais concretamente as Mulheres Trans, que foram condenadas a pena de prisĆ£o, assim como contribuir para a sensibilizaĆ§Ć£o e despertar de entidades pĆŗblicas e privadas, grupos profissionais especĆficos, serviƧos de apoio, locais de trabalho e a populaĆ§Ć£o em geral para a transversalidade e as consequĆŖncias do preconceito dirigido a pessoas com identidades socialmente nĆ£o normativas. AtravĆ©s de uma proposta de intervenĆ§Ć£o sustentada em pressupostos qualitativos, antevĆŖ-se uma intervenĆ§Ć£o junto de guardas prisionais de um Estabelecimento Prisional, promovendo-se a igualdade, o respeito e os direitos da comunidade LGBTI+ nos Estabelecimentos Prisionais.
Although the issues surrounding gender and sexual identities in Portugal are legally advanced, there is still much room for improvement, since the reality of every day life does not yet follow, as desired, the legal and normative statements. The lack of knowledge and training of professionals and, in general, the insufficient sensitisation of society are demanding barriers to overcome. This project addresses the problem of discrimination against trans women in prisons, operationalising various concepts related to LGBTI+ gender and sexual identities, with the main objective of giving visibility to these issues on discrimination against the LGBTI+ community, more specifically Trans Women, who have been sentenced to prison, as well as contributing to the awareness and awakening of public and private entities, specific professional groups, support services, workplaces and the general population to the transversality and consequences of prejudice directed at people with socially non-normative identities. Through an intervention proposal based on qualitative assumptions, an intervention is envisaged with prison guards of a Prison Establishment, promoting equality, respect and the rights of the LGBTI+ community in Prisons.
