| dc.description.abstract | Introdução: Diversos são os fatores de risco causadores do Cancro Oral. A prevenção e promoção da saúde oral são extremamente importantes para a mudança de comportamentos e diagnóstico precoce de lesões potencialmente malignas. O livro infantil “Com o Sorriso aprendo a fazer o exame da boca” foi desenvolvido com o intuito de oferecer informações às crianças, de uma forma lúdica, sobre o cancro oral, fatores de risco, a sua prevenção e deteção precoce. Objetivos: Avaliar o melhor método de ensino do auto-exame oral e avaliar a eficácia do livro “Com o Sorriso aprendo a fazer o exame da boca” como um veículo de promoção de saúde. Material e Métodos: Cinquenta e dois alunos do terceiro ano do primeiro ciclo do Ensino Primário participaram num estudo. Foram divididos em 3 grupos e expostos a metodologias distintas de ensinar a realizar o auto-exame oral. Posteriormente foi avaliado o método mais efectivo. Resultados: Após a análise estatística dos dados coletados, constatou-se que não houve diferenças significativas entre as metodologias aplicadas, sendo o valor de significância calculado atráves do Teste Qui-Quadrado de Pearson p>0,05. Conclusão: Os três métodos aplicados mostraram-se eficazes na propagação de conhecimento e consciencialização da população estudada. Podendo considerar a literatura utilizada eficiente na promoção de saúde e as crianças excelentes propagadoras de informação. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Introduction: Several are the risk factors that cause Oral cancer. The prevention and promotion of oral health are extremely important for the change of behaviors and early diagnosis of potentially malignant lesions. The children's book "With Smile Learning to take the examination of the mouth" was developed in order to provide information to children, in a playful way, about oral cancer, risk factors, their prevention and early detection. Objectives: To evaluate the best teaching method of oral self-examination and evaluate the efficacy of the book "with the Smile I learn to take the examination of the mouth" as a vehicle for health promotion. Material and Methods: Fifty-two students from the third year of the first cycle of primary education participated in a study. They were divided into 3 groups and exposed to different methodologies of teaching to perform oral self-examination. Subsequently, the most effective method was evaluated. Results: After the statistical analysis of the collected data, it was found that there was no significant difference between the applied methodologies, and the significance value was calculated through the Pearson's chi-squared test, p > 0.05. Conclusion: The three methods applied proved to be effective in spreading knowledge and awareness of the population studied. Being able to consider the literature used efficiently in health promotion and children excellent propagating information. | pt_PT |
