Abstract(s)
The dental crowding results in an overlap and rotation of the teeth. This problem has an evident aesthetic impact in the upper-middle zone of the adult. The orthodontic treatment aims to achieve aesthetic and occlusal results satisfactory for the patient, being the success of this, however, dependent on the occurrence or not of relapse. In the literature, the available studies, mostly, refer to recurrences and their prevention in the lower front arch, but these also occur in the upper front arch. This study aims to investigate forms, conditioning factors and solutions related to dental crowding, taking into account the incidence of recurrences in the upper front sector and possible causes. Finally, we intend to compare the preventive solutions of recurrences in the upper arch with the lower arch recurrences.
