Abstract(s)
Objective: To determine the effectiveness of the work of the abdominal transverse muscle associated with the work of the pelvic floor muscles in urinary incontinence (UI). Methodology: Research on computerized databases Pubmed/Medline and Web of Science, including randomized controlled trials (RCTs). The methodological quality of the studies was evaluated through the Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro) Scale. Results: Five papers met the inclusion criteria with an arithmetic mean of 6.2/10 on PEDro scale, with a total of 478 participants. The selected trials included different ways of using the technique and different assessment methods. There have been found significant statistical results in many evaluation scales. Conclusion: The training of the abdominal transverse muscle associated to pelvic floor muscles (PFM) training contributes to improvement of UI.
