Abstract(s)
(atratividade, acessibilidade, atualidade, aplicabilidade, adequabilidade, plenitude,
The Internet is a great source of information by its interactivity, ease and low cost of access, however, the content available may not be reliable and may compromise decision making. The possibility of anyone publishing information on the Internet without any control is one of the major factors for the lack of quality in the content available (Silva & Castro, 2008). This paper advocates a structure for a global quality evolution of awebsite, which is based on three main dimensions (content, services and technical), proposed by Rocha (2012). The dimension content quality was the main focus in this work because to date there are few published studies in this area and also because it is a crucial factor in decision making and carrying out everyday tasks. In addition to a literature review on quality of Websites and content quality of Websites, it was sought to investigate the users' perspective on the content quality of Websites of primary and secondary Portuguese school. It was examined whether the content available on the Websites of the schools present quality according to a set of 33 attributes defined in the approach of Caro et al. (2008). Consequently, a questionnaire was applied to 96 teachers in primary and secondary Portuguese school, yielding a response rate of 68.8%. The SurveyMonkey tool was used to create the questionnaire and the Microsoft Excel tool was used to process the data collected. A descriptive analysis was applied to these data. It was concluded that the absolute majority of the respondents agreed that 23 of the attributes (attractiveness, accessibility, currency, applicability, amount of data, completeness, believability, availability, understandability, specialization, reputation, accuracy, ease of operation, flexibility, interpretability, objectivity, timeliness, organization, relevancy, consistent representation, reliability, response time and value added) were available on the Website of their schools and a relative majority on the 5 attributes (duplicates, expiration, novelty, concise representation and traceability).
