Abstract(s)
As facetas dentárias
Anterior teeth are essential in the aesthetics of the face and are highly valued by some patients who wish to improve the anatomy or position of said teeth, in the pursuit for a more natural and harmonious smile. Veneers were able to combine the conservative requirement of their preparations with qualities of resistance, biocompatibility and, mainly, aesthetics. This dissertation aims to explore the subject of dental veneers of indirect elaboration, outlining the most frequent causes of failure and discussing the possibilities and options available for repair in case of fracture, both in rehabilitations elaborated in ceramics as in composite resin. A bibliographic research was performed in PubMed/Medline, B-On and Scielo. There is a lack of information regarding the longevity of repairs found in literature. Future studies must be carried out in order to determine whether a repair should be considered a treatment or only as a temporary solution.
