| dc.description.abstract | No século XX , o teatro brasileiro modernizou-se tanto a nível dos mis en scène como da sua dramaturgia. Neste processo de modernização da linguagem cénica e da escrita dramática houve inicialmente um conflito entre a preocupação com temas e problemáticas nacionais e a influência de encenadores e peças estrangeiros. Isto ocorreu sobretudo através dos grupos Os Comediantes e Teatro Brasileiro de Comédia. No início da ditadura, o teatro politizou-se e grupos como o Teatro de Arena e o Teatro de Oficina desenvolveram estilos de encenação e dramaturgias próprias. Este desenvolvimento foi, porém, interrompido pela repressão, censura e auto-censura, como também pela incapacidade de renovação. Enquanto os anos 80 foram caracterizados por um balanço desses impedimentos e uma retomada hesitante, os anos 90 já demonstraram uma diversidade de vertentes, estilos e temas que prometem Teatro de Oficina um complexo e interessante panorama teatral no futuro. In the twentieth century, Brazilian theatre modernized itself as much in terms of mis en scène, as in terms of dramaturgy. During this process of modernization of direction methods and playwriting, a conflict between the interest in national issues and problems and the influence of foreign directors and plays could be noticed initially. This occurred mainly in the two most important theatre groups, Os Comediantes and Teatro Brasileiro de Comédia. In the beginning of the dictatorship, the theatre became political. Groups like the Teatro de Arena and the Teatro de Oficina developed their own styles and were fundamental for the evolution of national playwriting. However, this development was interrupted by repression, censorship, and selfcensorship, as well as by the incapacity of renovation. While the 80s have been characterized by an evaluation of these impediments and a hesitant revival, the 90s already demonstrated a diversity of direction styles and themes that indicate a promising future for Brazilian theatre. | por |
