Abstract(s)
Objective: Literature review addressing peri-implant soft tissue dehiscences, their prevalence, risk factors and treatment. To compare the results obtained using surgical techniques to cover peri-implant soft-tissue dehiscences. Peri-implant soft tissue dehiscences are frequent in implants located in esthetic sectors, and their appearance may be related, among others, to peri-implant biotype, buccal cortical thickness, and implant position. Within the limitations of the literature and the present review, we conclude that the best documented surgical procedure in the literature is the coronal advancement flap combined with connective tissue graft (CAF+CTG). The preliminary positive results encourage further investigation of the topic by conducting randomized clinical trials with larger numbers of patients.
