Abstract(s)
Objective: This systematic review aimed to assess the prevalence of crossbite in children with cleft lip and palate. Methodology: The systematic search was carried out in five databases, B-on, Cochrane Library, PubMed, SciELO and Science Direct. After applying the selection criteria, 12 studies were included. The risk of bias assessment was carried out using the Newcastle-Ottawa tool. Description of the subject: Cleft lip and palate is currently a congenital anomaly that affects one in seven hundred children. It is characterized by the failure of the lip and/or palate to close during embryogenesis. It is a challenge to treat this alteration, which has implications for eating, phonetics and aesthetics, among other things. Crossbite is the most prevalent malocclusion in these individuals and deserves special attention in this study.
