O presente projeto debruça-se sobre o cineasta David Lynch e algumas das suas obras, com o objetivo de justificar a sua importância no crescimento e transformação do cinema e da comunicação. Ao longo de três capítulos, numa articulação entre teoria, análise fílmica e reflexão crítica, explora-se o lugar do cinema enquanto forma de comunicação, seguido de uma análise ao universo lynchiano enquanto cinema transformador, e terminando com atenção ao modo como os meios de comunicação tratam a sua morte e contribuem para preservar o seu legado. A conclusão deste trabalho procura responder à questão que atravessa todo o corpo de texto.
This project focuses on the filmmaker David Lynch and some of his works, with the purpose of justifying his importance in the growth and transformation of cinema and communication. Over the course of three chapters, in an articulation between theory, film analysis and critical reflection, the place of cinema as a form of communication is explored, followed by an analysis of the Lynchian universe as transformative cinema, and ending with attention to the way in which the media deal with his death and contribute to preserving his legacy. The conclusion of this work seeks to answer the question that runs through the entire corpus of the text.
