dc.description.abstract	A violência doméstica é designada como um ato que ocorre dentro de uma relação familiar ou análoga a esta, independentemente do género e idade tanto da vítima como do agressor. Passou a ter mais relevância social, a partir da década de 70 através dos movimentos feministas (Giddens, 2001), apesar de ser um fenómeno que remete a séculos anteriores. Portugal é um dos países onde este crime é mais divulgado e, embora haja um progresso significativo face a esta problemática, ainda existe muito trabalho a ser feito tanto a nível social como, também, a nível jurídico. Neste sentido, o presente estudo pretende abordar a forma como as necessidades e expectativas das vítimas de violência doméstica são respondidas pelo sistema judicial, nomeadamente, o processo de julgamento nos tribunais de família e menores e as declarações para memória futura. Este visa sublinhar a importância destas fases do processo judicial afim de auxiliar as vítimas para que estas se encontrem resguardadas assim como protegidas face aos agressores.	por
dc.description.abstract	Domestic violence is referred to as an act that takes place within a family or family-like relationship, regardless of the gender and age of both the victim and the aggressor. It has become more socially relevant since the 1970s through feminist movements (Giddens, 2001), despite being a phenomenon that dates back centuries. Portugal is one of the countries where this crime is most publicised and, although there has been significant progress on this issue, there is still a lot of work to be done, both socially and legally. In this sense, this study aims to address the way in which the needs and expectations of victims of domestic violence are met by the judicial system, namely the trial process in the family and juvenile courts and the statements for future reference. The aim is to emphasise the importance of these phases of the judicial process in order to help victims feel protected from their aggressors.	eng
