Abstract(s)
Background: The disc herniation is a spinal condition common in young individuals, causing major functional disability. Objective: To analise the effect of exercise therapy on recovery in patients with disc herniation. Methodology: Research in the Pubmed database and B.on to identify studies that evaluate the effectiveness of physiotherapy intervention in disc herniation. Results: In this review were included seven randomized controlled studies and two clinical trials involving 1265 patients. Conclusion: The physiotherapy intervention is associated with significant improvements in pain reduction and reduction of functional disability. We suggest further studies to prove and gain greater credibility in the practice of physiotherapy intervention of disc herniation.
