Abstract(s)
Work-related musculoskeletal injuries (WRMI) are an important problem as a cause of absenteeism in health professionals and particularly in nurses. The main objective of this work is to analyze the factors that cause injuries that prevent the development of a series of study articles, through a systematic review of the literature, 12 studies were selected because they are the only ones able to meet the main question in study. Through the review of all the studies it is possible to verify there is a high existence of the occurrence of WRMI in nursing professionals, be they, specific services or even daily activities of the profession which contributes to a considerable absenteeism rate. It is possible to verify that the nurses show a high frequency of WRMI symptoms, being reflected in several body regions. In summary, with this review of the literature we can conclude that there is a great association between WRMI and absenteeism, thus reinforcing studies that show that WRMI can develop later for musculoskeletal injuries, being one of the main factors that lead to nurses to absenteeism, or even to the permanent retirement of professionals.
