Con el uso del video digital, el surgimiento de las escuelas de cine, el apoyo estatal y el más fácil acceso de directores jóvenes a la exhibición comercial, apareció en estos últimos cinco años, de manera paralela y antagónica al cine alegórico y simbólico de la generación adulta, una generación de cineastas que buscó caminos originales para realizar sus proyectos y los encontró en el ensamblaje excéntrico y astuto de operaciones narrativas, tecnológicas y financieras que les han hecho posible la realización de películas de gran calidad a partir de recursos limitados. Este trabajo analiza las relaciones entre la conciencia y uso de las operaciones materiales con que trabaja la nueva generación de cineastas chilenos que surge en el año 2000 y el mejoramiento de la calidad de sus películas. With the use of digital video, the birth of film schools, state financial support and the easy access of young directors to commercial circuits, in the last five years in a parallel and antagonist manner to the allegoric and symbolic cinema of the adult generation, the younger generation of filmmakers looks for original ways to make its projects and found it in the eccentric and astute assemblage of narrative, technological and financial operations what has made possible to make films of a great technical quality with limited resources. This essay analyzes the relationship between the consciousness and use of the material operations with which the new generation of Chilean filmmakers that arises in the year 2000 works and how it makes better films.
