Abstract(s)
A mortalidade de pacientes em decorrência de erros cometidos por profissionais de saúde é muito elevada. Na área de Cirurgia, esse problema atinge proporções que, segundo a Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS, 2009), são inaceitáveis.
Neste desígnio a OMS assumiu a segurança cirúrgica como o Segundo Desafio Global para a segurança do doente através do programa “Cirurgia Segura, Salva Vidas” com a implementação da Check List : Cirurgia Segura Salva Vidas.
Na presente monografia realizou-se um trabalho de revisão narrativa da literatura no sentido de perceber quais os contributos da Check List Cirurgia Segura Salva Vidas para a segurança do doente no Bloco Operatório.
Foram encontrados 97 documentos com potencial interesse sobre o tema, dos quais 33 foram selecionados depois da leitura do resumo e 11 depois da leitura integral do documento, de entre as bases de dados procuradas estão a SCIELO, B-on e RCAAP.

In the area of Surgery, this problem reaches proportions that, according to the World Health Organization (OMS, 2009), are unacceptable. In this design, WHO has assumed surgical safety as the Second Global Challenge for patient safety through the "Safe Surgery, Saves Lives" program with the implementation of the Check List: Safe Surgery Saves Lives. In this monograph, a literature review was carried out in order to understand the contributions of the Check List Safe Survival Saves Lives to patient safety in the Operative Block.
