Abstract(s)
This study aimed to review the literature on the occurrence of anomalies of number in clef lip and palate individuals, their position and characteristics. The bibliographic research was performed using the combinations of keywords '(supernumerary) AND (cleft lip and palate)' and '(agenesis) AND (cleft lip and palate)' on the B-on, PubMed and Scielo platforms, in Portuguese, Spanish and English written articles. Of the 4154 initial results, 938 overlapped and were eliminated accordingly. In addition, 3068 were excluded by title while 63 were rejected after evaluating the summaries. Overall, a total of 33 articles remained for complete assessment. According to these studies, individuals with orofacial malformations, namely cleft lip and palate, presented a higher prevalence of dental anomalies regarding number, shape, size, position, eruption or enamel defects resulting from a combination of genetic, local, and environmental factors when compared to the population without this congenital anomaly.
