A linguagem é o meio que o ser humano encontra para se adequar à sociedade, uma vez que a linguagem como meio tradicional de comunicação é o instrumento de transmissão de ideias. Assim sendo, a linguagem é o que uno o individuo ao convívio social.
Este estudo pretende relacionar o desempenho morfossintático com o tipo de instituição (Privada ou Pública) frequentada pelas crianças. De igual modo, pretende relacionar a participação em atividades extracurriculares com o desempenho morfossintático. Assim sendo, o objetivo deste projeto passa por verificar o nível de compreensão morfossintática de crianças que frequentam o segundo ano do primeiro ciclo. Ao todo participaram 30 crianças de ambos os sexos (11 sexo feminino e 19 sexo masculino) e de idade compreendida entre os 7 e 8 anos. A amostra foi dividida em dois grupos: o grupo pertencente a uma escola pública (15) e o grupo pertencente a uma escola privada.
Para a recolha de dados foi utilizado como instrumento um teste de compreensão da gramática, TROG (Test for the reception of Grammar). Os resultados obtidos sugerem que a diferença entre a média dos resultados obtidos pelo grupo que frequenta a instituição privada não se destacou significativamente da média obtida pelo grupo pertencente à instituição pública. De igual forma, a média dos resultados obtidos pelas crianças que participam em atividades extracurriculares não difere significativamente das crianças que não participam.
Language is the means by which the human being is to fit into society, since the language as traditional means of communication is the tool to convey ideas. Thus, language is the one that connect the individual to social life. This study intends to compare the morphosyntactic performance with the type of institution (public or private) attended by children. Similarly, intends to relate participation in extracurricular activities with the morphosyntactic performance. Therefore, the objective of this project is to verify the level of morphosyntactic comprehension of children attending the second year of the first cycle. Altogether 30 children participated, in both sexes (11 females and 19 males), were aged between 7 and 8 years. The sample was divided into two groups: one group belonging to a public school (15) and other group belonging to a private school. For the data collection, it was used as instrument a test of understanding of grammar, TROG (Test for the reception of Grammar). The results obtained suggest that the difference between the average of results obtained by the group that attends the private institution not noted significantly from the average obtained by the group within the public institution. Similarly, the average of results obtained by children who participate in extracurricular activities does not differ significantly from children who do not participate.
