Sealing cements are used to fill the root canal system three-dimensionally and it is therefore essential that these materials have excellent sealing capacity and resistance to bacterial infiltration. Among the studies in the literature, there are discrepancies regarding the results of the sealing and infiltration capacity of the different cements. Since epoxy and tricalcium-silicate cements are different in their composition and biological properties, it was decided to ask the following research question: which of these two endodontic cements has the best sealing capacity, using in vitro models of bacterial infiltration? A search was carried out through Pubmed, Scopus and Web Of Science related to research question, which resulted in 9 articles. Most of the evaluation results from these studies showed greater resistance to microleakage for epoxy resin-based cements.
