Abstract(s)
Neste sentido, a
A amostra
The spiritual well-being has currently been the subject of various investigations, mostly related to health processes. As a positive psychological state, several authors emphasize the importance of this construct in the reconstruction of the positive expectations of life in the face of adversity. In this sense, most scientific studies allow us to conclude that the spiritual well-being is an experience of support and empowerment, to which the person intentionally recurs in a crisis, to help solving it. This research proposes to study the relationship between spiritual well being and the (mental) health of university students. The instruments used were the Mental Health Inventory (MHI) and “Questionário de Bem-Estar Espiritual (SWBQp)”. The sample consist of 194 participants, aged between 18 and 67 years old, in which 156 (80.4%) are female. This study results indicate that the dimensions of spiritual well-being are related to a better mental health. Thus, it is considered that this study is an added value in the health area, in terms of understanding the factors that may be related to a better quality of life and consequently, a better health.
