Abstract(s)
A sexualidade segundo a Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) é um aspeto primordial do ser humano presente ao longo da vida do individuo; incluí o sexo, os papéis de género, o erotismo, o prazer, a reprodução, a identidade e a orientação sexual, e é influenciada por fatores biológicos, psicológicos, sociais e culturais.
Para poder compreender a sexualidade, é preciso defini-la desde vários pontos de vista, um deles é a perspetiva sociológica, entendida como o processo de socialização dentro de um contexto sociocultural, fazendo com que os indivíduos vivam a sexualidade de diferentes formas segundo o grupo ao que pertencem.
Assim, a aluna considerou importante estudar as atitudes e os conhecimentos dos jovens sobre sexualidade para saber como sentem e vivem a sexualidade no seu dia a dia e quais as áreas de intervenção enquanto futura enfermeira de modo a contribuir para que os jovens tenham relacionamentos conscientes, seguros e gratificantes a nível afetivo e sexual.
O estudo é quantitativo e transversal, de tipo descritivo e exploratório, a recolha de dados foi obtida através dum questionário online.
Os dados correspondem a uma amostra constituída por 291 jovens entre os 18 e os 25 anos, todos eles espanhóis ou que residiram pelo menos um ano em Espanha.
Os resultados demonstram que uma percentagem considerável dos jovens que participaram no projeto têm comportamentos sexuais considerados de risco, apesar de a maioria ter respondido de maneira correta aos conhecimentos sobre sexualidade responsável. A maior parte dos jovens não recorrem aos profissionais de saúde para tratar temas relacionados com a sexualidade, mas sim aos seus colegas, amigos, a internet… e alguns deles afirmam desconhecer o facto de poderem recorrer a centros de saúde para conversar e tirar dúvidas sobre sexualidade.
Conclui-se também que a maioria dos jovens não acha necessário obter informação avalizada sobre sexualidade pois acham que já possuem o conhecimento suficiente, reafirmando que para tratar temas relacionados com sexualidade, preferem falar com os seus colegas.
Sexuality according to the World Health Organization (WHO) is a fundamental aspect of the human being present throughout the individual's life; includes sex, gender roles, eroticism, pleasure, reproduction, sexual identity and orientation, and is influenced by biological, psychological, social and cultural factors. In order to understand sexuality, it's necessary to define it from several points of view, one of which is the sociological perspective, understood as the process of socialization within a sociocultural context, making individuals experience sexuality in different ways according to the group they belong to. Thus, the student considered it important to study the attitudes and knowledge of young people about sexuality in order to know how they feel and live sexuality in their daily lives and what are the areas of intervention as a future nurse in order to contribute for young people to have conscious relationships, safe and rewarding emotionally and sexually. The study is quantitative and transversal, of a descriptive and exploratory type, the data collection was obtained through an online questionnaire. The data correspond to a sample consisting of 291 young people between 18 and 25 years old, all of whom are Spanish or have lived in Spain for at least one year. The results demonstrate that a considerable percentage of the young people who participated in the project have sexual behaviors considered to be at risk, despite the fact that the majority responded correctly to the knowledge about responsible sexuality. Most young people do not turn to health professionals to deal with issues related to sexuality, but to their colleagues, friends, the internet… and some of them claim to be unaware of the fact that they can go to health centers to talk and ask questions about sexuality. It is also concluded that the majority of young people do not think it necessary to obtain validated information on sexuality because they think they already have enough knowledge, reaffirming that to deal with issues related to sexuality, they prefer to talk to their colleagues.
