| dc.description.abstract | A Síndrome da Imunodeficiência Adquirida (SIDA) é uma doença provocada pelo Vírus da Imunodeficiência Humana (VIH), caraterizada pela redução da ativação e eficácia do sistema imunológico. A nutrição tem um papel fundamental na resposta imunológica dos doentes portadores de VIH/SIDA, influenciando positivamente o prognóstico da doença. Neste sentido o aconselhamento nutricional deve ser visto como uma terapia complementar na qual devem estar presentes a avaliação, a intervenção e o seguimento nutricional. As recomendações para portadores de VIH devem ser específicas para esta patologia. The Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is a disease caused by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), characterized by reduced activation and effectiveness of the immune system. Nutrition plays a key role in the immune response of these patients, influencing positively the prognosis of the disease. In this sense nutritional advice should be seen as a complementary therapy which must be present in the assessment, intervention and nutritional follow-up. Recommendations for patients with HIV should be specific for this disease. | por |
