Abstract(s)
Introduction: frozen shoulder is a pathology of unknown etiology, with insidious onset, associated with stiffness and loss of range of motion Its treatment has as electrotherapy (ultrasound, laser), specific techniques, stretches and deep heat. Objetive: analyze different approaches of intervention of physical therapy in the frozen shoulder pathology. Material and methods: a computerized study in Pubmed, Web of Knowledge and PEDro databases to identify randomized controlled trials evaluating the signs and symptoms of frozen shoulder and its treatment. Results: the different studies revealed great improvements in pain, range of motion, physical health, functional disability and some improvement in the scapulohumeral rhythm. Conclusion: it was possible to gather several combinations of treatments, in order to obtain improvements of the parameters affected by the pathology in study.
