Abstract(s)
individualizando o tratamento.

Methods: This study was carried out through the manipulation of a color photograph of a female and Caucasian individual, with a face considered, aesthetically, within normal parameters, obtaining an album of 12 photographs. The questionnaire was administered to a sample of 87 participants, being 27 (31.0%) patients (lay), 30 students of dental medicine (34.5%) and 30 dentists (34.5%). Results: Individuals with faces closer to ideal proportions are considered more attractive. As for the variables under study, training, gender and age, regarding the perception of attractiveness, only statistically significant differences were not found in terms of gender. In terms of age, both the group of Dental Medicine Students and the group of Dentists showed a positive relationship with aesthetic perception, increasing this perception with advancing age. Conclusions: It is essential for the Dentist to be aware of the parameters that he must follow, regarding facial aesthetics, which is one of the reasons why they are most sought, nowadays. Therefore, they must take these ideals into account when designing a treatment plan, but, in addition, they must follow the patient's aesthetic perception, individualizing the treatment.
