| dc.description.abstract | O presente trabalho, tem como principal objetivo identificar os fatores que contribuem para a reincidência e os efeitos do sistema prisional na reincidência, e inclui uma revisão sistemática da literatura existente sobre o tema e um estudo empírico com entrevistas diretas com os reclusos. A revisão sistemática da literatura tem como objetivo identificar os fatores que contribuem para a reincidência e os efeitos do sistema prisional na reincidência, e apresenta uma análise crítica dos métodos utilizados e recomendações para futuras pesquisas. O primeiro capítulo apresenta uma abordagem teórica ao tema, incluindo conceitos e enquadramento legal, bem como a caracterização dos locais onde ocorreram as investigações. O segundo capítulo apresenta um estudo qualitativo, que descreve as perceções de reclusos e técnicos superiores de reinserção a fim de responder às perguntas de partida “Quais os fatores de risco e proteção que apresentam maior relevância na reincidência, e até que ponto o sistema contribui para acentuar esses fatores?”. Com este intuito, foi realizada uma entrevista aos participantes sendo estas duas populações reclusas em dois estabelecimentos prisionais. Tendo concluído no estudo que apesar de se confirmar a transversalidade dos fatores previstos são fundamentalmente as características pessoais do indivíduo, criado por esses fatores que iram ter influência na reincidência. | dc.description.abstract | The main objective of this work is to identify the factors that contribute to recidivism and the effects of the prison system on recidivism, and includes a systematic review of the existing literature on the subject and an empirical study with direct interviews with inmates. A systematic review of the literature aims to identify the factors that contribute to recidivism and the effects of the prison system on recidivism, and presents a critical analysis of the methods used and recommendations for future research. The first chapter presents a theoretical approach to the topic, including concepts and legal framework, as well as the characterization of the locations where the investigations took place. The second chapter presents a qualitative study, which describes the perceptions of inmates and senior reintegration technicians in order to answer the starting questions “Which risk and protection factors are most relevant in recidivism, and to what extent does the system contribute to accentuate these factors?” For this purpose, an interview was carried out with the participants, these two populations being prisoners in two prison establishments. Having concluded in the study that despite confirming the transversality of the predicted factors, it is fundamentally the individual's personal characteristics, created by these factors that will have an influence on recidivism. Furthermore, some recommendations for future research on the topic are presented. | pt_PT |
