Abstract(s)
Objetivo: Avaliar a importância que o estabelecimento de protocolos de tratamento de suporte peri-implantar assume no sucesso dos implantes endo-ósseos a longo prazo.
Materiais e métodos: Realizou-se uma pesquisa bibliográfica, no período compreendido entre abril e agosto de 2018, recorrendo à base de dados MEDLINE/PubMed. Apenas foram incluídas meta-análises e revisões sistemáticas, baseadas em estudos em humanos e publicadas nos últimos 10 anos, em português, inglês ou espanhol. A pesquisa resultou num total de 7 artigos.
Resultados: A incidência de doenças peri-implantares é significativamente maior em pacientes não incluídos em terapia de suporte.
Conclusões: A inclusão do paciente reabilitado com implantes endo-ósseos na fase de suporte peri-implantar, com uma frequência de consultas devidamente adaptada às condicionantes individuais de cada paciente, torna-se absolutamente relevante para a prevenção, diagnóstico precoce e tratamento atempado de complicações biológicas, o que se irá inevitavelmente refletir na manutenção do sucesso terapêutico a longo prazo.
Objectives: To evaluate the importance that establishing treatment protocols for peri-implant support takes on in the success of endosseous implants on the long run. Material and Methods: A bibliographic research was held, in the period between April and August 2018, consulting the database MEDLINE/PubMed. Only meta-analysis and systematic reviews were included, founded on studies in humans and published in the last 10 years, in Portuguese, English and Spanish. The research lead to a total of 7 articles. Results: the occurrence of peri-implant disease is significantly higher on patients that are not included in support therapies. Conclusion: The inclusion of a patient rehabilitated with endosseous implants in the peri-implantar support stage, with a frequency of check-ups duly adapted to the individual constraints of each patient, becomes utterly relevant for the prevention, early diagnosis and early treatment of biological complications, which will inevitably reflect in the maintenance of the therapeutic success on the long run.
