Abstract(s)

Na mesma linha de reflexão, impulsionada pelas inovadoras exposições no âmbito do Fórum Internacional “Ciência, Religião e Consciência”, também aqui se condensa a perspectiva da Ciência no quadro de um diálogo com a Religião e, mais concretamente, com a Teologia. O presente texto introduz alguns dogmas seminais da tradição bíblica (Génesis) e confronta-os com as aquisições científicas actualmente admitidas, ressalvando as diferenças essenciais entre os dois modos de pensar a realidade e o mundo. Por outro lado, julga-se de interesse evocar aqui a tradição físico-naturalista que integrou, em determinados momentos da Idade Média e do Renascimento, importantes contributos de pensadores e teólogos cristãos na construção dos alicerces da chamada Ciência Moderna. O texto chama, por fim, a atenção para as relações biunívocas entre a Humanidade e a Natureza, que no discurso religioso se apresenta num registo de primazia absoluta do humano, retirando daí as devidas consequências no plano ético. In the same line of reflection, driven by the innovative expositions within the International Forum “Science, Religion and Consciousness”, here is also condensed the perspective of Science within the framework of a dialogue with Religion and, in a concrete manner, with Theology. The present text presents some of the seminal dogmas of the biblical Genesis tradition and confronts them with the most recent scientific acquisitions, keeping in mind the essential differences between these two ways of perceiving reality and the world. At the same time, is summoned the physical naturalist tradition which has integrated in certain moments of the Middle Ages and of the European Renaissance, important contributions from Christian thinkers and theologists who helped to build the foundations of the so called Modern Science. Finally, the text calls your attention to the reciprocal relationships between Humankind and Nature and to the absolute superiority of man that they have brought to the religious discourse, with all due consequences in the ethical field being considered.
