Abstract(s)
Implants are increasingly present in oral rehabilitations, which leads professionals to a careful criterion in the clinical selection between the choice of the retention system (cemented or screwed), since these are often related to the preference of the professional, being also influenced by the desire of each patient. These retention systems present some factors that differ between them, being of extreme importance to be taken into account at the moment of selection, among which are: occlusion and fracture of the ceramics, passivity, screw loosening, aesthetics and reversibility. In view of these issues, this study aims to assist the professional in the selection of bolted and cemented prostheses through a literature review that addresses a discussion about the criteria for clinical selection between these, emphasizing their advantages, disadvantages and limitations, referred to in the following aspects as knowledge and assistance for selection of the implant-over-implant.
