A dissertação apresentada foi realizada no âmbito da obtenção do grau de mestre em Ciências Empresariais, na Universidade Fernando Pessoa, cujo tema consiste num estudo económico-financeiro relacionado com a sustentabilidade nas empresas de metalomecânica portuguesas.
O objetivo deste estudo foi o de averiguar quais as práticas de sustentabilidade e os indicadores de desempenho económico-financeiro utilizados pelas empresas do setor em causa e a relação existente entre as práticas e indicadores estudados.
Nos últimos tempos a consciencialização no tema da sustentabilidade tem sido crescente, tendo sido demonstrado um interesse por parte da população empresarial, pelas diferentes ideias sobre este tema.
O estudo em causa aborda o setor da metalomecânica e o seu desempenho económico-financeiro, através do uso de indicadores e do relacionamento com as práticas de sustentabilidade.
Esta dissertação de mestrado apresenta, primeiramente, a informação necessária sobre os indicadores de desempenho económico-financeiro, práticas de sustentabilidade e relação entre estes dois, de forma a contextualizar o estudo que é realizado para, por fim, estabelecer uma ligação entre o desempenho económico-financeiro e as práticas de sustentabilidade na indústria metalomecânica portuguesa.
The dissertation presented was carried out within the scope of obtaining a master's degree in Business Sciences, at the Fernando Pessoa University, whose theme is an economic-financial study related to sustainability in Portuguese metalworking companies. The objective of this study was to find out which sustainability practices and economic-financial performance indicators are used by companies in the sector in question and the relationship between the practices and indicators studied. In recent times, awareness about sustainability has been growing, with an interest on the part of the business population having been shown in the different ideas on this topic. The study in question addresses the metalworking sector and its economic and financial performance, through the use of indicators and the relationship with sustainability practices. This master's thesis presents, firstly, the necessary information about economic and financial performance indicators, sustainability practices and the relationship between these two, in order to contextualize the study that is carried out to, finally, establish a link between the economic and financial performance and sustainability practices in the Portuguese metalworking industry.
