Abstract(s)
The parasite-host relationship between lice and Man is one of the biggest stories of success among ectoparasites. Although ,clinically, lice infestation does not cause significant damage to health, the social, mental and economic impact is substantial, there is no programs that prioritize the control of ectoparasites on health. A crisis in pediculosis’s control has been emerging due to the lack of options for new pediculicides, this opened a way to the possibility of resistance. The occurrence of mutations is due in large part about the indiscriminated abuse of products that were to be marketed on a large scale as over-the-counter drugs (OTC), such as pyrethroids and permethrin.
