Abstract(s)
Contemporaneity reflects a moment of great diversity of experiences, of multiple demands in the face of a world in constant change. In this world, human interaction faces threats from multiple fronts: from the lack of opportunity to live with oneself and with other subjects, from external demands that normalize an existence centered on future goals, on desired acquisitions, and that refer internal voices and life stories that format them to noisy and volatile spaces. The present study focuses precisely on the narrative dimension of human existence, and is based on the analysis of biographical history as a tool for personal knowledge, conscious change and health promotion (physical and mental). To this end, a case study based on the autobiographical analysis of a single participant was used, based on the archetypal vision of human biography present in the work of Rudolf Steiner, the basic idea of anthroposophy, and expanded by the works of other anthroposophical authors, such as Bernard Lievegoed and Gudrun Burkhard. In addition to this analysis, the Mental Health Continuum-Short Form for Adult Population scale was used (at the beginning and at the end of the process) to assess the impact on mental health, and a semi-structured interview was used to give the participant a voice about the experience in which she participated, and its effects on her existential dynamics. The results collected, after articulation of the various sources and the analysis of the participant's discourse, express how the process of autobiographical analysis is reflected in several dimensions of her life. The sense of coherence, as defined by Aaron Antonovsky, emerges in its three components: Comprehensibility, Manageability and Significance when the author analyzes in depth the impact of the autobiographic research process. Finally, and in the light of the Salutogenesis approach as advocated by Aaron Antonovsky, it is explicit how the creation of environments that enhance individual and collective capacities to face challenges and find meaning in life experiences, promote a general state of well-being and confirm the effects of the entire process on the physical and mental health of the participant.
