Abstract: Introduction: Basketball, played by millions of women, puts significant pressure on the pelvic floor, contributing to urinary incontinence (UI), which is common in high-impact sports. UI can affect performance and even lead to withdrawal from the sport. Despite its relevance, it remains a taboo and underestimated issue. Objectives: To determine the prevalence and impact of UI, identify its causes, triggering activities, prevention strategies, and possible associations with age, pregnancy, and physical exertion. Methodology: A cross-sectional study involving 200 female players (100 FPB and 100 FFBB), using sociodemographic questionnaires, the ICIQ-SF, and the KHQ. Participants were women aged 18 or older, affiliated with their respective federations. Conclusion: UI is prevalent, especially among French players (75%) compared to Portuguese players (55%). Diagnosis is rare (0% in Portugal). Raising awareness among athletes and coaches is essential to ensure a healthy and inclusive sports environment.
