Economia compartilhada e a geração Y: a troca da posse pelo uso – um estudo empírico

| dc.description.abstract | A Economia Compartilhada é uma forma de economia baseada no compartilhamento de bens e serviços. Dentre grandes empresas de conhecimento do público que estão inseridas nos conceitos deste tipo de economia, podemos citar a Uber e a Airbnb. Este trabalho apresenta um estudo da Economia Compartilhada levando o foco central da discussão para as mudanças nas preferências de consumo da posse para o uso. Como muitos autores apontam a Geração Y como protagonista neste processo, pretende-se analisar a se há a troca da posse pelo uso comparando esta geração com as demais. Para elaboração do estudo foi feita uma revisão bibliográfica sobre o tema, na qual foi possível explorar os conceitos de compartilhamento a partir da visão de vários autores. Alguns fatores são apontados como essenciais na Economia Compartilhada, como: tecnologia, sustentabilidade, confiança, Geração Y, consumo e noções de valor. Face às questões levantadas com os pontos de vista dos autores lidos, foi feita uma pesquisa exploratória com o intuito de analisar se há mudança de foco da posse para o uso de bem e/ou serviços, bem como identificar se a Geração Y é a principal responsável por isto. A pesquisa foi aplicada durante os meses de Abril e Maio de 2017 e dividida em cinco dimensões para melhor análise. São elas o Transporte, Trabalho, Educação, Lazer e Turismo. O resultado apresentado foi uma preferência maior ao uso em todas as gerações analisadas, conforme indica a literatura sobre o tema. No entanto, não foi possível dizer que a Geração Y é a principal responsável por este resultado. De acordo com a pesquisa, a Geração Baby Boom apresentou maior tendência ao uso e maior distanciamento da posse. Na Conclusão do trabalho são apresentadas propostas para futuros trabalhos na área, que foram identificadas após este estudo. Sendo assim, este estudo sobre a Economia Compartilhada é relevante e contribui para fomentar a discussão sobre o assunto, pois este é ainda pouco explorado. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The Sharing Economy is a kind of economy based in goods and shared services. Large companies of public domain are inserted in the concepts of this type of economy, such as Uber and Airbnb. This dissertation shows a Sharing Economy’s study focusing the changes of consumption preferences from the ownership to the use. As many authors shows the Generation Y as the protagonist in this process, we intend to analyse if there is a change from the ownership to the use, comparing this generation with the others. For the elaboration of the study, a bibliographic review was done on the subject, in wich was possible to explore the concepts of sharing from many authors prespectives. Some factors were pointed out as essencial in the Sharing Economy, as follows: technology, sustainability, trust, Generation Y, consumption, and notions of value. In light of the issues raised by the views of the authors, an exploratory research was carried out to analyze whether there is a shift in the focus of ownership for the use of goods and/or services, as well as to identify if Generation Y is the responsible for this. The research was applied during the months of April and May of 2017 and divided in five dimensions for the better analysis. They are Transportation, Work, Education, Leisure and Tourism. The results obtained were a higher preference for use in all the analysed generations, in accordance with the literature about this subject. However, it was not possible to say that the Generation Y is the main responsable for this result. According the survey, the Baby Boom Generation had the greater tendency for use and the greater distance from ownership. In the Conclusion of this study, suggestions are presented for future studies in the area, which were identified after this work. This dissertation about Sharing Economy is relevant and contributes to encourage debates about this subject, because it is still little explored. | pt_PT |
