Abstract(s)
O presente trabalho tem como objetivo a requalificação do espaço público do
Bairro da Pasteleira, construído entre 1958 e 1960, tendo como principal enfoque a
adaptação deste território ao contexto dos novos desafios sociodemográficos.
No sentido de enquadrar o estudo do caso, foi feito um levantamento histórico dos
bairros sociais do Porto, com a análise dos planos realizados entre 1932 e 1962, para que
seja percetível a evolução das diferentes tipologias, a ocupação dos núcleos habitacionais
ao longo do território da cidade e de um modo geral, como estão relacionados com a
envolvente no local de implantação. Foi realizada uma caraterização demográfica para
demonstrar a nova realidade da cidade do Porto com o aumento do índice de
envelhecimento e as suas restantes consequências, bem como uma análise à mobilidade,
para que seja percetível o modo como a população se desloca ao longo do território.
A adaptação do espaço público à população idosa e/ou com mobilidade reduzida,
torna-se um fator importante para a cidade, tendo em conta o aumento do índice de
envelhecimento do Porto. O Bairro da Pasteleira apresenta no seu território grandes
diferenças de cotas, que juntamente com a inexistência de locais de lazer ou de estadia
torna-se um desafio para a população idosa e/ou com mobilidade reduzida utilizar o
espaço público do bairro.
Foi realizado um levantamento dos percursos da população e aos pontos críticos
de acessibilidade que estão dispostos ao longo dos trajetos, bem como um estudo aos
espaços verdes, à mobilidade e ao uso do automóvel, uma vez que o crescente uso deste
meio de transporte trouxe consequências para o Bairro da Pasteleira.
A proposta desenvolvida no capítulo V surge como materialização da investigação
ao longo desta dissertação de mestrado, de modo a melhorar a qualidade do espaço
público do bairro, propondo locais destinados à população que atualmente são
inexistentes, bem como a sua adaptação à população idosa e /ou com mobilidade reduzida,
com novas ligações ao longo do território e a resolução do problema do uso do automóvel
no bairro.
The objective of the present work is the requalification of public space of the «Bairro da Pasteleira», constructed between 1958 and 1960, having as main approach the adaptation of this territory to the new social demographic context challenges. In order to fit in with the case study, it was made a historic survey of the social neighborhoods of Porto, analyzing the plans made between 1932 and 1962 to be perceptible the evolution of the different typologies, the occupation of the neighborhoods along the territory of the city and in general, how are they related with the surroundings on the implantation site. It was made a demographic characterization to demonstrate the new reality of the city of Porto, with increase of the aging index and its consequences, as well the analysis of the mobility, to be perceptible how the population move across the territory. The adaptation of the public space to the elderly population and/or with reduced mobility, becomes an important factor for the city, considering the increased of the of Porto’s aging index. The «Bairro da Pasteleira» presents in its territory many differences of elevations, in the addition with the inexistence of places for social meting or leisure becomes a challenge for the elderly population and/or reduced mobility use the public space of the neighborhood. It was made a survey of the population paths and to the critical points of accessibility across them, but as well a study to the green spaces, the mobility and the use of the car, because the increasing use of this transportation brought consequences to the «Bairro da Pasteleira». In the chapter V the propose developed arise as a materialization of the research throughout this master’s thesis, in order to improve the quality of the public space of the neighborhood, proposing places destined to the population that are current inexistent, as well their adaptation to the elderly people and/or with reduce mobility, with new connections across the territory and the resolution of the problem of the car use in the neighborhood.
