| dc.description.abstract | A mucosite oral é resultante de toxicidade e um dos efeitos colaterais mais comuns da radioterapia e da quimioterapia. Clinicamente estas alterações caracterizam-se por atrofia epitelial, edema, eritema e pelo aparecimento de úlceras, que podem acometer toda a mucosa bucal, gerando dor e desconforto, prejudicando a fala, a deglutição e a alimentação. Além da importante sintomatologia, as úlceras aumentam o risco de infeção local e sistêmica, comprometem a função oral e interferem no tratamento antineoplásico, podendo levar à sua interrupção. O presente trabalho teve como propósito rever algumas de las opções terapêuticas preventivas e curativas que apresenta a mucosite oral. Realizou-se uma pesquisa bibliográfica, onde se limitou o intervalo de tempo a artigos entre 2011 e 2019, tendo-se recorrido a 16 artigos dos quais 4 correspondem a revisões bibliográficas, 10 a estudos clínicos randomizados controlados e 2 a estudos experimentais. A terapia certa permanece desconhecida sendo importante que uma vez instalada dita entidade manter a qualidade de vida do paciente, aliviar a dor e prevenir a infeção é fundamental para ou medico dentista. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Oral mucositis results from toxicity and one of the most common side effects of radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Clinically, these changes are characterized by epithelial atrophy, edema, erythema and the appearance of ulcers, which can affect the entire oral mucosa, causing pain and discomfort, impairing speech, swallowing and eating. In addition to the important symptoms, ulcers increase the risk of local and systemic infection, compromise oral function and interfere with antineoplastic treatment and may lead to its interruption. This paper aimed to review some of the preventive and curative therapeutic options presented by oral mucositis. A bibliographic search was performed, where the time interval was limited to articles between 2011 and 2019, and 16 articles were used, 4 of which corresponded to literature reviews, 10 to randomized controlled clinical trials and 2 to experimental studies. The right therapy remains unknown and it is important that once this entity is installed maintaining the patient's quality of life, relieving pain and preventing infection is critical for a dentist doctor. | pt_PT |
