Realidade social educativa do Bairro do Cerco do Porto: contributos para uma intervenção mais inclusiva

Abstract(s)
O presente projeto de investigação tem como objetivo compreender a realidade social e educativa do Agrupamento de Escolas do Cerco do Porto, com especial enfoque na forma como a abordagem dos obstáculos e dificuldades presentes neste contexto influencia a trajetória pessoal e profissional das crianças e jovens que aí residem. Através de uma metodologia qualitativa, de cariz exploratório e descritivo, sustentada no paradigma crítico, foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas a profissionais de diferentes áreas, educação social, ação social, psicologia, ensino, entre outras, envolvidos no quotidiano deste território. A investigação procurou, assim, identificar os principais entraves ao sucesso escolar e à inclusão social, analisar práticas institucionais que podem ser promotoras ou, pelo contrário, perpetuadoras de exclusão, e recolher diferentes perspetivas sobre as mudanças necessárias, tanto ao nível local como estrutural. A escolha da amostragem intencional permitiu selecionar participantes com conhecimento profundo do contexto, assegurando uma recolha de dados rica e significativa. A análise de conteúdo das entrevistas visou captar padrões de resposta, experiências pessoais e profissionais, e a perceção dos entrevistados sobre as dinâmicas educativas e sociais que moldam o percurso dos jovens no território. O projeto procurou, ainda, valorizar a voz dos profissionais como agentes fundamentais de transformação, reconhecendo o impacto das políticas públicas, da cooperação interinstitucional e da escuta ativa na construção de respostas mais inclusivas. A investigação assume-se, assim, como um contributo para a reflexão crítica sobre desigualdades sociais e educativas em contextos periféricos e vulneráveis, promovendo o debate sobre práticas mais humanizadas, eficazes e integradas. Além da produção de conhecimento académico, o estudo ambiciona sensibilizar para a urgência de uma ação educativa e social mais comprometida com os direitos das crianças e dos jovens, defendendo uma abordagem que vá além da intervenção assistencialista e que promova uma cidadania plena e ativa. Em suma, este trabalho representa uma tentativa de compreender as múltiplas dimensões da exclusão e da inclusão neste território específico, e de contribuir para a construção de soluções informadas, participadas e sustentáveis.
The aim of this research project is to understand the social and educational reality of the Cerco do Porto School Group, with a special focus on how addressing the obstacles and difficulties present in this context influences the personal and professional trajectory of the children and young people who live there. Using a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive methodology, based on the critical paradigm, semi-structured interviews were carried out with professionals from different areas - social education, social action, psychology, teaching, among others - involved in the daily life of this area. The research thus sought to identify the main obstacles to school success and social inclusion, analyze institutional practices that can promote or, on the contrary, perpetuate exclusion, and gather different perspectives on the necessary changes, both at a local and structural level. The choice of purposive sampling made it possible to select participants with in-depth knowledge of the context, ensuring rich and meaningful data collection. The content analysis of the interviews aimed to capture response patterns, personal and professional experiences, and the interviewees' perceptions of the educational and social dynamics that shape young people's lives in the area. The project also sought to value the voice of professionals as fundamental agents of transformation, recognizing the impact of public policies, inter-institutional cooperation and active listening in building more inclusive responses. The research thus contributes to critical reflection on social and educational inequalities in peripheral and vulnerable contexts, promoting debate on more humanized, effective and integrated practices. In addition to producing academic knowledge, the study aims to raise awareness of the urgent need for educational and social action that is more committed to the rights of children and young people, advocating an approach that goes beyond welfare intervention and promotes full and active citizenship. In short, this work represents an attempt to understand the multiple dimensions of exclusion and inclusion in this specific territory, and to contribute to the construction of informed, participatory and sustainable solutions.
