Metodologia: O protocolo de investigação foi realizado com base no PRISMA-ScR 2020 usando os palavras-chaves (dental surgery) OR (technology in Dentistry) OR (tecnhology in surgical dentistry) AND (new biomaterials) AND (technology in GBR) AND (robotic guidance) AND (new priting/scanners) AND (IA in surgical planification) AND (implant planning) AND (augmented reality in dental surgery) AND (robotic guidance) AND (navigation surgery) em bases de dados: PubMed e ScienceDirect.
Introduction: The nineteenth century is the beginning of the great technological innovations. In the medical field, dentistry sees exponential changes with this revolution. In dental surgery, a clinical act can currently be facilitated by tools such as: AI, robotic assistance, providing accuracy and reduced risk of error. Bone grafts also see the arrival of innovative materials that allow a postoperative follow-up. The technological revolution does not only apply during surgeries, but also in pre and postoperative. Technology can help us optimize treatments to give more accuracy, reliability and reduce the risk of error. Objectives: This scope study was carried out in order to fill the gaps in the literature and respond to the following objectives: What is the impact of the introduction of technology in the practice of dental surgery? How has dental surgery evolved based on technological tools? Metodologia: The research protocol was carried out based on PRISMA-ScR 2020 using the keywords (dental surgery) OR (technology in Dentistry) OR (tecnhology in surgical dentistry) AND (new biomaterials) AND (technology in GBR) AND (robotic guidance) AND (new priting/scanners) AND (IA in surgical planification) AND (implant planning) AND (augmented reality in dental surgery) AND (robotic guidance) AND (navigation surgery) in databases: PubMed and ScienceDirect. Results: We have found that the use of technology can be a great aid in dental surgery thanks to the possibility of giving more precision, more reliability and less trauma. However, the absence of research has resulted in technological constraints or limitations that affect numerous surgical procedures. Conclusion: Technology is a great tool that allows use to work with more precision and more confidence.
