Até agora os implantes dentários têm mostrado altas taxas de sobrevivência de até 99% em 10 anos. Além de complicações protéticas menores, a peri-implantite é a razão mais comum para falha biológica. A teoria da comunidade bacteriana ecológica propõe que existam muitos patógenos periodontais na saliva oral de adultos saudáveis com predomínio de três grupos de Treponema spp. e um grupo Synergistetes A em torno de implantes doentes. Também foi descrita a presença de Actinomyces spp., Campylobacter spp., Fusobacterium spp., Gemella spp., Parvimonas spp., Porphyromonas spp., Prevotella spp., Rothia spp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., e Veillonella spp. O presente estudo tem como objetivo analisar a microbiota envolvida assim como os fatores de risco e as diversas técnicas de tratamento da peri-implantite.

The theory of the ecological bacterial community proposes that there are many periodontal pathogens in the oral saliva of healthy adults who find a predominance of three groups of Treponema spp. and Synergistetes group around diseased implants. The presence of Actinomyces spp., Campylobacter spp., Fusobacterium spp., Gemella spp., Parvimonas spp., Prevotella spp., Rothia spp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp. and Veillonella spp. The present study aims to analyze the microbiota involved as well as the risk factors and the various techniques for treating peri-implantitis.
