Abstract(s)
potenciadora do efeito branqueador.
The importance of tooth whitening today is a reason for discussion in the sense of seeking the best technique with the lowest possible risk. Today's society is based on concepts of well-being, and many seek physical health with a whiter, more perfect smile. This study aimed to carry out a review of the published bibliography on the various techniques and the different means to perform an effective, safe and minimally invasive tooth whitening. To acomplish this purpose, an article search was carried out in Pub-Med and B-On, with temporal and lingustic inclusion criteria. There is no consensus on the most effective technique or agent. All bleaching systems trigger adverse effects such as tooth sensitivity, which is reversible, and in these cases, it can be minimized by prescribing outpatient carbamide peroxide up to 16%. In most situations, up to 6% hydrogen peroxide should be applied in the office in short periods of time, and aided by photoactivation. There is no consensus on the light / LED / Laser that enhances the whitening effect. Tooth whitening is a non-invasive, simple and relatively predictable treatment as to its final result, provided that the clinical history is well prepared, the etiology of tooth discoloration is well established, and the application technique is well executed.
