Abstract(s)
The success of endodontic treatment depends on the dentist's ability to eliminate pulp tissue infected by disinfection, instrumentation and three-dimensional filling of the root canal system. This last phase is usually done through a combination of gutta percha as the main material and an endodontic sealer. An important objective during this filling is to investigate the heat transfer that gutta percha may present, which may be dependent either on the thermal transporters or on the various filling techniques used during non-surgical endodontic treatment, which may compromise the periodontal tissues. In carrying out this narrative review, a bibliographic search was carried out in scientific journals in the PubMed and Google Scholar databases, including publications in English, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian.
