Abstract(s)
Objective: Evaluate the importance of physiotherapy after hip arthroscopy affected by femoral acetabular impingement (FAI). Methodology: Computerized search in the PubMed database, PEDro and B-on search engines to identify randomized controlled trials between 2014 and 2019that demonstrated the importance of physiotherapy after hip arthroscopy. The methodological quality was assessed through the Physiotherapy Evidence Database scoring scale (PEDro scale). Results: In this review, 7 articles were included involving 737 individuals aged between 16 and 60 years, with a methodological classification superior to 6 in PEDro scale. Of the articles mentioned in this review, 7 report the effects of manual therapy, hip muscle exercises, trunk exercises, functional exercises, cardiovascular training, and load control. The studies obtained a significant mean difference in the groups that underwent pre and post-surgical physiotherapy. Conclusion: Physiotherapy after hip arthroscopy seems to be effective in progressive lower limb strengthening, proprioceptive recovery and specific training in certain physical activities.
