| dc.description.abstract | O sorriso gengival remete para uma desarmonia facial de natureza multifactorial, motivo pelo qual existem vários recursos terapêuticos para o seu tratamento. A toxina botulínica tem sido amplamente utilizada ao longo dos últimos anos, especificamente enquanto alternativa isolada ou complementar a outras terapias para o tratamento dessa desarmonia facial. Em pesquisa sobre o tema nas bases de dados B-on e PubMed, constatou-se que a toxina botulínica como opção terapêutica corretiva, adjuvante ou paliativa para o sorriso gengival tem respaldo crescente na literatura científica. Este estudo tem por objetivo, com base em uma revisão narrativa da literatura científica, discutir a utilização da toxina botulínica no tratamento do sorriso gengival e verificar se, apesar de ser um tratamento de resultados temporários, ele pode servir de alternativa a outros podem levar à eliminação do problema. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The gingival smile refers to a facial disharmony of multifactorial nature, which is why there are several therapeutic resources for your treatment. The Botulinum Toxin has been used extensively over the past years, specifically isolated as an alternative or complement to other therapies for the treatment of facial disharmony. In research on the subject in the databases B-on and PubMed, it was verified that botulinum toxin as a corrective, adjuvant or palliative therapeutic option for the gingival smile has an increasing support in the scientific literature.
