| dc.description.abstract | Este estudo foi realizado no âmbito da cadeira de Projeto de Graduação do 4º ano da Licenciatura em Enfermagem, da Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade Fernando Pessoa e a temática abordada foi: “Conhecimentos e atuação dos pais perante a criança com febre”. Segundo a Direção Geral de Saúde (2017), considera-se febre uma temperatura igual ou superior a 1,0ºC acima da média das temperaturas basais individuais no mesmo local de avaliação (axila, retal, oral, timpânica). A temperatura corporal é um dos principais métodos de avaliação por parte dos pais (Pestana, A., 2003) para quem “a maioria dos pais reconhece que o uso do termómetro constitui o melhor método para avaliar a temperatura das crianças, embora continuem a utilizar a mão/lábios como primeiro método de identificação desta.”. O conhecimento do papel parental acerca da febre é bastante importante para a decisão a adotar perante a criança com febre. Desta forma, a maioria dos pais considera febre uma temperatura igual ou superior a 37,5ºC (Pestana, A. 2003). O tipo de estudo adotado para esta investigação científica é um estudo exploratório descritivo, de abordagem quantitativa, sendo a amostra constituída por pais de crianças com idades compreendidas entre os 3 e os 5 anos de idade que frequentam um infantário do Agrupamento de Escolas de Pedrouços, na cidade do Porto. Os resultados obtidos permitem afirmar que a maioria dos pais possuem os conhecimentos adequados, tal como é referido nas normas da DGS e do PAI da febre (Processo Assistencial Integral da Febre de Curta Duração em Idade Pediátrica), que explica como agir perante a criança com febre. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | This study was undertaken for the subject of Graduation Project, of the 4th year of the Nursing BSc in the Health Sciences Faculty of Fernando Pessoa University; with the theme: “Parent’s knowledge and action regarding a feverish child”. According to the Direção Geral de Saúde (2017), it is considered to be fever when the body temperature is greater or equal to 1,0ºC above the average of the individual basal temperatures on the same area of evaluation (armpit, rectal, oral, tympanic). Body temperature is one of the main methods of assessment by parents (Pestana, A., 2003) for whom “the majority of parents recognise that the use of the thermometer is the best method to assess children’s temperature, in spite of continuing to use the hand/lips as the first method of its identification”. The understanding of the parental role regarding fever is greatly important for the decision to adopt in the case of a child with fever. Thus, the majority of parents consider fever when temperature is greater or equal to 37,5ºC (Pestana, A., 2003). The type of methodology adopted for this scientific research is a descriptive exploratory study, with a quantitative approach, with the sample being composed by parents of children aged between 3 and 5 years old that attend the kindergarten of the Agrupamento de Escolas de Pedrouços, in the city of Porto. The obtained results seem to confirm that the majority of parents have adequate knowledge, such as it is mentioned in the norms by DGS and by the fever’s PAI (Integral Assistential Process of Short Duration Fever in Paediatric Age), which explains how to act with a child with fever. For parents the most habilitated health professionals to provide such information are the doctors. | pt_PT |
