Abstract(s)
qualquer parte do mundo.
transmitir a informação a qualquer momento.
imediatez informativa.
The present dissertation intends to understand the role of the direct present in Portuguese television, through the analysis of six newscasts of three television stations during the month of March 2018. Were analyzed, in total, 329 direct, in 186 newscasts. The target news study were: the Jornal da Tarde and the Telejornal, of RTP1; the Primeiro Jornal and the Jornal da Noite, of SIC; the Jornal da Uma and the Jornal das 8, of TVI. Over the years, the paradigm of journalism has undergone changes, especially television journalism. Television has become more immediate because, for using direct, it is possible to transmit the events in real time from anywhere in the world. Therefore, it was considered pertinent to conduct this study on the subject of direct and also because it is a subject little present in academic and literary studies. Through the direct content analysis, it was possible to understand that the role of direct on Portuguese television news is mostly show the telespetador that the medium is represented on the event site and can transmit information at any time. Thus, it was found that direct is used in the television news to give greater credibility with the audience and to compete, since the era of social networking information is increasingly immediate and television, using the direct, is able to follow the information immediacy.
