I (Intervenção): Intervenções cirúrgicas e conservadoras.
Macroglossia is a rare congenital disease, often associated with pathologies such as Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome, lymphangiomas and hamartomas. These anomalies can have a significant impact on breathing, eating, speech and maxillofacial development. maxillofacial development, affecting both the functions and aesthetics of patients. The aim of this thesis is to carry out a detailed analysis of the causes of macroglossia in the context of congenital pathologies, based on a review of the scientific literature and the study of clinical cases. The research aims to understand and identify the causes of macroglossia, in addition to its clinical their clinical, functional and morphological characteristics, in order to improve diagnosis and therapeutic approaches. By exploring the relationship between macroglossia and congenital pathologies, this work aims to provide a broad overview of treatment strategies, with a focus on the surgical, functional and aesthetic aspects necessary for more effective clinical management. The review will be based on studies published in the last 5 years, found in databases such as databases such as PubMed, Cochrane and Google Scholar. The keywords used will be "macroglossia", "congenital pathologies", "lingual surgery" and "functional results". The main question to be answered is: "What is the efficacy of therapeutic approaches in the treatment of congenital macroglossia, and what are their functional impacts?". To this end, the PIO: P (Patient) model will be used: Patients with macroglossia associated with congenital pathologies. I (Intervention): Surgical and conservative interventions. O (Outcome): Functional and aesthetic results and reduction of complications. We will include studies in English, French or Portuguese dealing with macroglossia in congenital pathologies, addressing clinical, surgical and functional aspects. Irrelevant studies will be excluded. Finally, a general table will be drawn up with the selected articles to discuss and analyze selected, to discuss and analyze the results found.
