Abstract(s)
Objective: To assess the likelihood of root resorption resulting from orthodontic treatment in endodontically treated teeth compared with vital teeth. Method: Bibliographic search in PubMed, using combinations of keywords with the Boolean operator AND. Ten articles were selected after screening and establishing inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: Two types of results were found, there is no statistically significant difference of root resorption between vital teeth and endodontically treated teeth. Conclusion: To answer the incidence of root resorption after orthodontic treatment between teeth with and without endodontic treatment, the studies in the literature have limitations and the results are multiple. Within the limitations imposed in the review we can conclude that vital teeth seem more susceptible to root resorption.
