Abstract(s)
As organizaçÔes sociais dirigidas aos idosos procuram ter serviços cada vez mais adequados e adaptados às diferentes situaçÔes e necessidades desse grupo de população, minorando ou tentando reverter situaçÔes, quando estão em causa contextos que afetam o seu bem-estar e a sua segurança.
O presente trabalho tem por objetivo averiguar, interpretar e compreender a perceção dos idosos sobre questÔes de institucionalização. Para o efeito, fomos ao seu encontro no Centro Comunitårio de Refóios, em Ponte de Lima, de forma a observar e analisar como percecionam a sua vida, procurando dar visibilidade ao que sentem como mais positivo ou menos positivo. Deu-se especial enfoque às relaçÔes com os familiares e com a nova comunidade de que passaram a fazer parte.
Para o efeito, procurou-se fazer uma recolha de testemunhos acerca das vivĂȘncias desde a juventude, percursos de vida e expetativas, de forma a melhor compreender os sentimentos que os acompanham ou que os tĂȘm acompanhado ao longo do tempo. Assim como o que aspiram agora com a integração numa instituição.
Em termos metodolĂłgicos utilizou-se, para o estudo empĂrico, a observação participante (tĂ©cnica privilegiada) e a anĂĄlise de conteĂșdo.
Como principais resultados avançamos que os idosos de uma forma geral gostam de viver na instituição sendo que em relação a possĂveis alteraçÔes, faladas esporadicamente, pouco referiram de significativo.
Social organizations targeting seniors seeking services have increasingly appropriate and adapted to different situations and needs of this population group, minimizing or trying to reverse situations, when dealing with contexts that affect their well-being and safety. The present study aims to investigate, interpret and understand the perception of the elderly on issues of institutionalization. To this end, we were to meet at the Community Center of RefĂłios in Ponte de Lima, in order to observe and analyze how percecionam his life, trying to give visibility to what feels like more positive or less positive. Special focus was given to relations with family members and with the new community that became part. To this end, we tried to make a collection of testimonies about experiences from his youth, life paths and expectations, in order to better understand the feelings that accompany them or that have followed over time. Just like that now aspire to integration in an institution. In terms of methodology was used for the empirical study, participant observation (technical trading) and content analysis. The main results that advance the elderly in general like to live in the institution and in relation to possible changes, spoken sporadically reported little of significance.
