Abstract(s)
Com o propósito de aperfeiçoar os tratamentos endodônticos, surgiram os instrumentos de Níquel-Titânio. As ligas termomecanicamente tratadas que constituem estes instrumentos tem sofrido uma grande evolução, devido a procura constante de limas mais resistentes à fratura. Esta revisão bibliográfica narrativa tem como objetivo relatar as vantagens das ligas de NiTi na prática clínica.
A metodologia consistiu numa pesquisa efetuada nas bases de dados Pub Med, a Science Direct e a B-on, com recurso às seguintes palavras-chave: “Endodontia”, “Ligas NiTi endodônticas”, “Ligas NiTi”, “Tratamento termomecânico”, “Liga NiTi austenica”, “Liga NiTi martensitica”, “Memoria controlada” e “Fratura instrumentos endodônticos NiTi”.
Cada tipo de liga possui as suas próprias características, apresentando fases estruturais distintas. As mais recentes apresentam uma maior resistência à fadiga cíclica, assim como melhores caraterísticas de superelasticidade e efeito memoria de forma.
In order to obtain more efficiency in the endodontic treatments, the instruments of Nickel-Titanium alloys were created. The thermomechanically treated alloys that make up these instruments have undergone a great evolution, due to the constant search of files more resistant to fracture. This narrative bibliographic review aims to report the advantages of NiTi alloys in clinical practice. The methodology consisted of a research carried out in Pub Med databases, Science Direct and B-on, using the following keywords: "Endodontics", "Endodontic NiTi alloys", "NiTi alloys", "Thermomechanical treatment", "NiTi austenitic alloy", " NiTi martensitic alloy", "Memory controlled" and "Fracture NiTi endodontic instruments". Each type of alloy has its own characteristics, presenting different structural phases. The newer ones present a higher resistance to cyclic fatigue, as well as better characteristics of superelasticity and shape memory effect.
