Abstract(s)
vias aéreas superiores recorrendo a pesquisas bibliográficas.
This dissertation aims to relate crossbite and upper airway alterations using bibliographical research. This malocclusion is characterized by a discrepancy between the maxillary and mandibular arches in the transverse dimension which generally results from the decrease in the width of the upper arch. Several respiratory alterations come from this condition being necessary to study them and to relate them with the treatments used in the palatal disjunction. This treatment should be performed as early as possible to allow a greater success rate of the palatine disjunction therapy, ensuring adequate orthopedic expansion with the aim of better adaptation and (posterior) development of the tissues affected by this dysfunction.
