Abstract(s)
A presente dissertação trata do estudo sobre a responsabilidade social empresarial no sector
petrolífero em Angola. A responsabilidade social empresarial refere-se às acções das
empresas, que beneficiam a sociedade, tendo em atenção a economia, educação, meio
ambiente, saúde, transporte, habitação e as actividades locais. A responsabilidade social
empresarial, também pode significar um contributo social proporcionado pela empresa ao seu
meio envolvente. Essa responsabilidade social muitas vezes envolve medidas que trazem
cultura e boas condições para a sociedade.
As açcões de responsabilidade social das empresas são o foco principal para o
desenvolvimento da economia de um país pois, toda a sociedade tais como governantes,
população e os próprios empresários estão literalmente envolvidos nesse processo.
Nos dias de hoje é cada vez mais evidente as empresas esforçarem-se em criarem melhores
estratégias para serem socialmente responsáveis, como tal, ajudam a melhorar as questões
ambientais, sociais e económicas e a minimizar a pobreza em certos países, como é o caso
específico de Angola. De certa forma essas empresas estão a investir voluntariamente no seu
futuro ganhando cada vez mais vantagens competitivas e aumento da sua rentabilidade.
Nesta dissertação fez-se um enqudramento teórico, com base em alguns trabalhos, que visou
dar suporte aopresente trabalho, a metodologia escolhida foi a qualitativa, mediante um
design de pesquisa descritiva e estudo de Caso. O referido estudo incidiu sobre as empresas
CHEVRON e SONANGOL com o propósito de analisar se as iniciativas de responsabilidade
social empresasrial implementadas pelas empresas do sector petrolífero contribuem para o
desenvolvimento de Angola e também pela promoção da imagem das mesmas.
Apesar de que os resultados apresentados não tiveram em conta métodos, técnicas e
cálculosestatísticos, os resultados mostram que as empresas do sector petrolífero têm um
papel preponderante na redução dos índices de pobreza nas comunidades e no
desenvolvimento económico do país.
This dissertation deals with the study on corporate social responsibility in the oil sector in Angola. Corporate social responsibility refers to the actions of companies, which benefit society taking into account the economy education, environment health transport housing and local activities. Corporate social responsibility can also mean social contribution provided by the company to its environment this social responsibility often involves measures that bring culture and good conditions to society. Corporate social responsibility actions are the main focus for the development of a country`s economy because the whole of society, such as government officials, the population and the entrepreneurs themselves are literally involved in this process. Nowadays it is increasingly evident that companies strive to create better strategies to be socially responsible, as such, they help to improve environmental, social and economic issues and to minimize poverty in certain countries, as is the specific case of Angola. In a way these companies are voluntarily investing in their future, gaining more and more competitive advantages and increasing their profitability. In this dissertation, a the theoretical framework was made, based on some works which aimed to support this work, the chosen methodology was qualitative, through a descriptive research design and case study. This study focused on the companies CHEVRON and SONANGOL with the purpose of analyzing whether the corporate social responsibility initiatives implemented by the companies in the oil sector contribute to the development of Angola and also by promoting their image. Although the results presented did not take into account methods, techniques and statistical calculations the results show that companies in oil sector have a leading role in reducing the poverty rates in communities and in the country`s economic development.
