Abstract(s)
As the population goes older, more and more edentulous patients are looking for their condition. For many years, these patients have been rehabilitated with conventional overdentures, which are considered a deficient replacement for their condition. However, implant-supported denture have been helping many problems that conventional complete dentures have such as lack of retention, stability, aesthetics, masticatory and nutritional deficits, isolation, lack of self-esteem, and impairment of oral and general health. This narrative review had as main objective to evaluate the surplus value of the rehabilitations by means of implant-supported denture with a view to the improvement of the quality of life of the patients. In conclusion, to rehabilitate an edentulous patient with implant-supported dentures produces significant improvements compared to conventional overdentures in terms of quality of life for most patients.
